LG AI Research attends ICLR 2021 ML in Korea



LG AI Research attended “ICLR 2021 ML in Korea,” an online group of Korean AI researchers.

ICLR 2021 ML in Korea was held via a video conference tool named Gather.town for 3 hours from 9 AM to 12 PM on May 4. This event featured two educational institutions, Seoul National University and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and eight of Korea’s top AI companies, including LG AI Research Institute, NAVER, Upstage, Hyundai Motor Company, Kakao Brain, SK Telecom, Hyperconnect and Gauss Labs

Started with an opening by Professor Gunhee Kim and a keynote speech by Professor Kyujin Cho of Seoul National University, the event comprised 20 ICLR thesis presentations, session by company, and trend sharing program of ICLR 2021. From LG AI Research Institute, Woohyung Lim, Leader of the Data Intelligence Lab, attended as a presenter to share the information on research and recruiting conducted at the institute in order to attract AI talents.


Industry Session on Gather.town. Each company gave a 15-minute presentation and offered a virtual booth around the Industry Session to hold company PR and Q&A session.


ICLR 2021 ML in Korea is the third of its kind held following ICLR 2020 ML in Korea and NeurIPS 2020 ML in Korea, and is an event taking place continuously to vitalize research exchanges among Korean AI researchers and to raise the level of recognition in global conferences.
