LG AI Research Participated in CVPR 2021

LG AI Research participated in CVPR 2021, a global deep learning conference.

CVPR 2021, which ran from June 19 to 25, was held online due to COVID-19. World-renowned AI researchers and participants from various fields, including universities and enterprises, shared their knowledge through presentations, tutorials, workshops, and panels.

CVPR 2021 unveiled over 1,600 papers, consisting of 12 paper sessions as well as lectures through panel sessions including “Ethics in AI and AI/CV in Developing Nations,” “Machine Learning in Computer Vision” and “Human and Robotic Perception.” LG AI Research held LG AI Day at CVPR 2021. The event was held on the morning of June 21 for Korean participants. CSAI Honglak Lee opened the session with the introduction of a recent study under the theme of “Learning Representations and Compositional Reasoning for Solving Complex Tasks.” The session was followed by researcher Sungha Choi’s presentation under the topic of “RobustNet: Improving Domain Generalization in Urban-Scene Segmentation via Instance Selective Whitening,” and researcher Hyunwoo Kim’s presentation under the topic of “Supervised Contrastive Replay: Revisiting Nearest Class Mean Classifier in Online Class-Incremental Continual Learning.” Lastly, Seunghwan Kim, the head of the Vision lab, introduced the purpose of the establishment and major research projects of LG AI Research.



In addition, LG AI Research attended a sponsor session. A video introducing major research projects and visions of LG AI Research was made available to the participants during the event.

Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition(CVPR) is the world's leading conference in artificial intelligence, which has been co-hosted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE) and the Computer Vision Foundation(CVF) since 1983. This event is participated by a number of world-class research institutes and enterprises to present and share their research outcomes on artificial intelligence such as the methodology on processing images and videos with computers and applied academic papers.
