LG AI Research Shares the Latest Research at KCCV 2021

LG AI Research participated in KCCV 2021, an academic presentation meeting where the latest research results achieved in the Korean computer vision sector are shared.

In this year’s KCCV, research papers that are going to be presented at top-class conferences such as ECCV 2020, NeurIPS 2020, and CVPR 2021 were shared through 24 oral presentations and 49 poster presentations. CSAI Honglak Lee at LG AI Research, participated in ‘Invited Talk’ held on the second day of the event, August 10, and shared his current research work as well as global AI trends. In this presentation titled, ‘Learning Representations and Models of the World for Solving Complex Tasks’, Honglak Lee introduced algorithms that plan future data by learning images/videos and maximize reward by identifying detailed dependent relations through experience.

Following the presentation on the latest research, Honglak Lee also introduced individual labs at LG AI Research and their research subjects. He highlighted that LG AI Research has continuously presented research outcome at international conferences such as CVPR, and that it is studying how to improve the AI capabilities of LG’s affiliated companies based on the basic and applied AI research.

Meanwhile, Korean Conference on Computer Vision (KCCV) is a Korean computer vision conference hosted by the Korea Computer Vision Society, which started in 2014. This year’s conference was held both online and face-to-face following the previous conference. The special lecture by an overseas speaker was held online while the oral research presentation was given at COEX, Seoul, while the presentation was streamed online in real time. At the presentation, the latest research on computer science and direction of its future development were shared.
