LG's EXAONE 3.5 listed in "Notable AI Models" by the U.S. nonprofit research organization Epoch AI

LG AI Research’s EXAONE 3.5 32B model, released in December last year, has been included in the “Notable AI Models” list by Epoch AI, a U.S.-based nonprofit AI research organization composed of scientists. The Notable AI Models list features models that have been rigorously evaluated based on performance, high citation rate, and other key factors and have been deemed outstanding by researchers.

Notably, EXAONE is the only Korean model to be listed in the past two years. Excluding EXAONE 3.5, no other Korean models have been included in the list since 2023. Since December 2024, the latest models that have been listed include four from the United States(including Veo 2 which is multinational), three from China, and EXAONE 3.5 32B as the only model from Republic of Korea.

Currently, a total of 893 AI models are featured in the Notable AI Models list, with the United States leading with 539 models, followed by China with 88, and Japan with 10.

Looking ahead, LG AI Research plans to release an enhanced version of EXAONE this year while continuing research on future AI technologies, including Agent AI.
